“Governance” is the term used for the systems and processes that ensure the overall direction, effectiveness, supervision and accountability of an organisation.
The Board of Trustees has a legal responsibility to govern Herts Aid, which includes deciding on strategy, policy matters and monitoring of efficiency and effectiveness.
Each trustee or member of the Board of Herts Aid takes the role on a voluntary basis and has a portfolio detailing their particular area of responsibility and expertise. This ensures Herts Aid is run efficiently and within Charity Commission Guidelines.
