Herts Aid offers a range of confidential services to people living with HIV as well as their partners and families.
From Royston to Rickmansworth and everywhere in between, if you are living in Hertfordshire and need our support, get in touch. Our services include the following and can be offered either at our offices, in your home, or another venue of your choice:
Herts Aid offers referrals to a counselling service, consisting of BACP accredited counsellors. Our counselling service is for a maximum of 6-8 sessions.
Herts Aid runs peer support groups for people living with or affected by HIV. Please see our events diary for more information.
Citizens Advice Service
In conjunction with the Citizens Advice Bureau, Herts Aid offers support from a trained advisor regarding issues such as debt, financial advice, benefits, housing and relationship breakdown. Support can be offered face to face, by telephone or email.
Immigration Advisory Service
Working with Blavo & Co Solicitors in St Albans, Herts Aid offers appointments to see an Immigration Solicitor for advice. This service is by appointment at the Watford or Ware offices.
Hardship Grants & Children’s Fund
Herts Aid can offer small grants from our hardship fund or children’s fund for those who are in financial crisis. We also refer to other agencies for hardship grants. All grants are subject to meeting financial eligibility.
Subject to availability, Herts Aid is able to assist people who need help with transport to and from appointments, attending support groups or any other services.
Training Programmes and Laptop use
Herts Aid offers a range of e-learning packages as well as access to laptops at both of our office sites. Please contact us if you wish to use these facilities
Herts Aid also runs programmes by HIV positive people for HIV positive people. These include:
- positive self management
- nutrition and diet
- assertiveness and more

One to One support
Herts Aid support workers will work with you to devise a tailored support plan that aims to address all the issues you identify that you may need support with.
They will work closely with you to achieve all your goals and your support plan will be regularly reviewed.
